The story behind Moon Shine

Moon Shine began in 1997 as Professional Casual Belts and was started by Klaus Schoening, Jr. The business began in his garage in 1997 after his third daugher was born. Klaus came up with the idea to make a tickertape belt to wear on "casual friday" at the brokerage company where he worked. He started designing professional casual wear belts for corporations and weekend wear. After his designs were featured in many catalogs, he then expanded his business with South Carolina state flag designs and collegiate items as well as his own designs, it was obvious that he could no longer be called PC Belts , because his company offfered so much more, like purse totes, keychains, sandals, bucket hats, picture frames and pet products!

Countless nights we worked late getting orders out that our joke was that "we see more moon shine than we do sun shine!" So that was it! We decided to change our name to Moon Shine because we were not just belts anymore, and to be honest, we thought the name was pretty cool.
